that it took me 5 seconds to realize why my fly wasn’t coming undone.
Most thanksgivings im not in a typical setting. Im not safely tucked away in suburbia waiting for my turkey and stuffing. Most thanksgivings i am in northern ontario walking through a forest hoping i will see something. The reason i’m wandering through a forest is that i am hunting moose, this is what my dad and i do during thanksgiving. Along with a few other select members we head up into the middle of nowhere and live in a cabin with zero connections to the outside world for a week.
The older i get the more i realized how nice it is to completely unplug yourself and just live in a forest essentially for a week. Actually talking to people and interacting totally in a non digital sense. I’m sad i’ll miss out on all the ridiculous stories that come out of the other guys at the camp. Since i am the youngest by at least 25 years there are a lot of “back when i was your age” stories that are, most of the time too ridiculous to be true but too good not to tell. Sadly though this year i had to pass on the opportunity.
There is always next year though.
I love my new room mates!
